         IAPEA’s JOB
    • TO WORK WITH AND MONITOR the performance of The Associated Press as it affects its service to Illinois newspaper members.
    • TO HELP MEMBERS improve their newspapers.
    • TO HONOR EXEMPLARY WORK of member newspapers through an annual association contest and to recognize, through the Lincoln League of Journalists, those who have made significant contributions to the field of newspaper journalism in Illinois.
    • TO SERVE AS LIAISON with the Associated Press Managing Editors Association (APME) and with statewide organizations having similar objectives.
    YOU ARE A MEMBER

Each Illinois AP newspaper is a member of this association. And each such newspaper's top executive plus each full-time employee of its news operation, is a member as well. (See bylaws for specifics.)
